Vacation Bible Camp
Early Summer
Fellowship Hall
You’ve probably heard of Vacation Bible School…but here at Westminster, we have Vacation Bible Camp. Why? Because one of our youngsters pointed out that school is work, but camp is fun! And our VBC provides serious faith formation in an enjoyable and engaging format.
Children age 4 through Middle School are invited to participate. We encourage our own congregation’s kids and grandkids to come and to bring their friends. All are welcome! While exact dates and times vary from year to year, VBC generally occurs early in June and meets from Sunday through Thursday. Sessions run about two and a half hours.
Each day, the kids get to enjoy stories, songs, snacks, arts & crafts, and games, all designed to bring to life the year’s theme and reinforce the featured Bible lessons. Recent themes include Into the Water, Stories from the Faith Family Tree, and On the Road with God.
Our curriculum isn’t a one-size-fits-all purchased package. Instead, it is designed by our resident team of experienced education professionals to address the special needs of our children and their families.
Sessions are shepherded by adult volunteers and high school helpers. All volunteers have completed a background check and periodic training on our policy and protocols (a brochure regarding our Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adult protection policy is available in the narthex). Many of our workers are professional educators, and some have special training in working with littles ones who have special needs.
