Community Engagement on Our Campus

Numerous days and locations within our facility

Along with all Presbyterian Church (USA) congregations, Westminster is called to (among other things) provide for the “Shelter, Nurture, and Spiritual Fellowship of the Children of God.” One aspect of living into that call is to make our well-appointed facility available to groups throughout the Greenwood community that need a place to meet regularly, to celebrate occasionally, or to fulfill their mission daily.

Here are some community offerings that use (or have used) our campus:

  • The Toddler Learning Center, a daily preschool program that is part of Community Initiatives, Inc. (https://www.communityinitiatives.us/toddler-learning-center)

  • Greenwood Amateur Radio Club, a monthly gathering of ham radio enthusiasts

  • Mindful Meditation, a group using classical principles of Buddhist meditation to enhance personal peace and focus

  • Homeowners associations that need a venue for their annual meetings

  • Scout troops

  • Yoga classes

Westminster has a Facility Use Policy <link> that spells out the conditions and requirements for community use. In many cases, there is no fee for using our space.

For more information, contact: Rev. Caroline Dennis, pastor, or Bill Kimler, chair of the Business Affairs/Building & Grounds Ministry Team (dreamingofdata@gmail.com).
