Children's Sunday School
Children & Youth Sunday School
Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the Lower-Level Education Wing
Your children and youth are most welcome at Westminster! In Sunday School, they receive age-appropriate Christian education while being cherished by our loving, experienced caregivers. Our children’s curriculum offers lively, hands-on lessons that provide a strong foundation in Christian faith and values. For example, your little ones will learn about Bible characters from the Old and New Testaments, hear stories that Jesus told, and explore church traditions—all topics that are important to their faith formation.
Here are some of the interactive lessons our little ones have enjoyed recently:
-
Building a replica of the Temple in Jerusalem
-
Learning memory verses and illustrating those scriptures in memory verse journals
-
Making bookmarks for all the hymnals in the sanctuary
-
Participating in worship as part of the congregation during weekly services
-
Creating lighthouse sculptures after exploring the use of the term light throughout scripture
-
Decorating a Lenten Tree with "Resurrection eggs" that tell about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus
Your children are safe with us. A brochure regarding our Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Adult protection policy is available in the narthex. This policy requires all volunteers working with children to successfully complete a background check and periodic training on our policy and protocols. Many of our workers are professional educators, and some have special training in working with littles ones who have special needs.
